Hotel review: Das Graseck – Garmisch Partenkirchen, Germany

Recently, I spent three days in Garmisch Partenkirchen enjoying the wonderful landscapes covered in snow before the arrival of spring. You know how much I love warm seasons but the snowy mountain landscape is something I can’t resist. It has been a long time since I had taken a short trip to the Bavarian Alps, so as alway,s I chose a hotel that could make the experience even more magical and relaxing. The Hotel Das Graseck was the right choice for this purpose and I loved everything about this wonderful hotel nestled in the mountains. The only way to reach it, is through the smallest cable car in the world that takes you to the hotel in a few minutes. The short ride is absolutely wonderful and even more magical with the snow. Obviously for those who have fear of heights there is also the possibility to make the journey with a hotel’s car.

Room

Our room was an amazing junior suite with a breathtaking mountain view. I loved the way it has been furnished and that distinguishes the whole hotel: a mix between a classic mountain chalet and a design boutique hotel with beautiful pieces like the two chairs in the living area. The bathroom with shower was very large and equipped with everything necessary.

Interior

The interior design of the common areas, including the hall, the breakfast rooms, the restaurant and the bar, were also furnished in a modern style with some references to a typical Bavarian mountain chalet. In fact there is a lot of use of wood, but also absolutely beautiful design chairs and armchairs. I loved this contrast that made our experience even more memorable. You know that I love hotels with unique decor and this, despite being a mountain hotel, was not ordinary.

Wellness area

The spa area is where we spent most of the time. I loved that it was complete with everything: saunas at different temperatures with panoramic mountain views, steam room, several relaxation areas and a beautiful outdoor pool. Even from the pool the view was breathtaking and I almost did not want to get out of the water anymore. Also there was a large selection of tea and fresh fruit to spoil you while sitting comfortably on the deck chairs.

Food

Food was also one of the highlights of our holiday. The breakfast was really abundant with a really rich buffet and for all tastes. We had half board and both times the dinner was really delicious and made with genuine ingredients. I really liked that there was always a vegetarian option, since I don’t eat meat for a few months, and for me who is committed to offering something even for those with special dietary needs is absolutely appreciated.

  24. This property looks so cozy and romantic, absolutely in love with the interiors! And must say, the hotel had the best views, never could imagine swimming when it’s snowing but I would do it if I get such a beautiful view too!
