London Fashion week fall/winter 17-18: Judy Wu, Minki and Ekaterina Kukhareva

Here’s another post about London Fashion Week. This time I’ll talk about three presentations I attended: Judy Wu, Minki and Ekaterina Kukhareva. These three presentations have completely different styles but I liked all three a lot. I loved the structured outfits of Judy Wu, the colors and patterns of Minki and the dream gowns of Ekaterina K. But let’s talk about the presentations in detail also analyzing all the trends that I was able to identify.

Judy Wu

Kudy Wu’s collection is inspired by the neo-futurist architecture with an abundance of structured and asymmetric shapes and a predominance of earth colors such as ochre. The prints were mostly striped. I also loved the choice of the make-up for the models, an orange eye shadow with warm tones that matched perfectly with the colors of the outfits.

Minki

Minki’s collection is super colorful and fun with lots of prints. Jackets and coats are oversize with a use of non-conventional materials. The inspiration is surely the world of childhood, I loved the choice of making the models moving and dancing, which brings the designs even more to life.

Ekaterina Kukhareva

The presentation of Ekaterina Kukhareva is an ode to femininity, with romantic long dresses and the representation of an enchanted garden with young women, children and even a pregnant woman. The fabrics chosen are light and delicate with transparencies and soft and pastel colors. I loved the hair of the models often collected in messy braids that matched perfectly with the style of the collection.
