Hotel review: Landhotel Hohenfels – Tannheim, Austria

One of the things that makes me love winter, is going to the mountains for a weekend to admire the snow-covered landscapes. Although I don’t ski, I enjoyed a lot the weekend i spent in Tannheim, Austria. On this occasion I stayed at the Landhotel Hohenfels and, as always when I stay in hotels that I especially like, I want to review it in the case you want to go there too. This hotel is the perfect base for ski lovers as it is located very close to the slopes, and is located in a spectacular location in the mountains in the picturesque village of Tannheim. I loved that weekend and you can see all the pictures I took on my Instagram profile.

Room

Our room was a Superior with a beautiful terrace looking over the snowy landscape. The room is furnished in alpine style with a lot of use of wood and very cozy. Even the bathroom was large and with an eye for detail. The room also included a living area with sofa and chair where I liked to sit down to drink a hot drink after the walk in the snow.

Interior

As the room, even the interior of the rest of the hotel makes a great use of wood. Both the lobby and the dinner and breakfast rooms are beautifully furnished and very cozy. If I had stayed longer I would definitely spent a lot of afternoons just sitting in the lobby reading a good book.

Wellness area

The wellness area is always my favorite in every hotel I stay. I loved the room with chairs that looked to the snowy mountains. It was super relaxing to observe the magnificent landscape. The decor was very elegant and with attention to detail. The spa also included a heated outdoor pool, and bathe there has been one of the most beautiful experiences I’ve had during the weekend. Moreover the welleness area included a sauna and offer the possibility to receive cosmetic treatments and massages by professionals.

Food

The hotel’s treatment was half board so we had dinner in addition to breakfast at the hotel. the food was really delicious, with regional specialties. Then the service is worthy of a luxury hotel. The breakfast was very rich with a wide choice of sweet and salty.
