Laura Mercier Iconic Leading Lady – Vivien lip set review

Laura Mercier Iconic Leading Lady is a series of lip sets in a limited edition of different tonalities created to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the cosmetics company. Each set is inspired by a Hollywood leading lady and the movies they starred in. I tried the set “Vivien” Inspired by the legendary Vivien Leigh, the Scarlett O’Hara in Gone with the Wind. The set consists of a Velour Lovers lipstick and a Lip Glacé lipgloss, both red with a cold undertone.

A particularity of these sets, that I liked a lot, is that they also contain a handy small mirror, in addition to the two lip products. The two products can be used together or separately.

The lipstick is a very valuable product. The color is perfect, the elegant classic red that even if worn alone without eye makeup makes your face elegant without too much effort. I like to wear it alone just because I love the matt effect, but if you want a glossy and mirrored effect you must wear it with the lip gloss combined. The duration of this lipstick worn alone is extraordinary, I have not yet owned a lipstick that had such duration.

The lip gloss if worn alone is perfect if you want to achieve a natural result or if you prefere to emphasize the eyes leaving the lips natural. The thing that I liked is that it is not the classic sticky lip gloss but it’s very comfortable to wear.

Both products are excellent and I absolutely recommend them. I’d like to try other colors in this line but if you have to pick just one I recommend the set Vivien because red is a must and will always be timeless. Let me know if you have tried some lip sets of this line and what do you think!
