A new year has begun and that means 365 days full of possibilities to make it extraordinary. Every year is a fresh start, an opportunity to be a better person and to achieve our goals. All of us, at the beginning of the year we make a list of good resolutions of what we want to accomplish and who we want to become, and this helps us to stay focused on our dreams and goals. Below I have listed six things that can’t miss in your list of resolutions, but remember, to make sure that it does’t remain just a list of things you’ll never realize, you also need to make an action plan and work hard to make things happen!
1. TRAVEL MORE
They say that travel is the only thing that you buy that makes you richer. Experiencing other cultures and see different places widens the views and enriches you a lot.
Although I´ve traveled a lot in 2014, I´ve never been outside Europe and this is one of my resolutions for the new year. I have already shared with you my travel bucket list and I hope to see all the places on the list in 2015!
2. BE HEALTHIER
Admit it, every year this is among the top three of your resolutions. I also fall into the category of people who start the new year full of good intentions and then fail in the following months
This year I want to be different for you and for me and the plan to be more healthy involves eating better, do more exercise and drinking more water. Also I would like to start doing yoga again and I would absolutely recommend it to you too. It’s beneficial for both the body and the mind
3. START MEDITATING
Meditation is connected with yoga but you don’t have necessarily to do both. Just 10 minutes a day of meditation are enough to savor the first benefits including relieving stresses and be more present. Online you will find many resources to get started: my favorite is this guide for beginners from Zen Habits
4. BE IN THE MOMENT
Do you ever not fully enjoy the moment you are living because distracted by other thoughts? Maybe in front of a beautiful sunset you were more committed to take a picture to post on Instagram instead of enjoy it. I admit, it happens to me many times. This year we have to try to be present and more mindful and, as I have already said, meditation helps a lot
5. START DREAMING BIGGER
What are your dreams? Even those bigger and seemingly impossible are not to be kept just in your mind! If you think about it, you can also do it. Nothing it’s impossible to accomplish: create an action plan for your goals and try to get closer to it one step every day.
6. INVEST IN QUALITY PIECIES
Now it is the turn of a resolution for your wardrobe: stop to focus on quantity over quality and buy two or three high quality basic items that will be the most important of your wardrobe and an investment that will last through time
