The mental peace and calm that a mindfulness practice gives us, also allow us to focus on the things we love, on living a life full of beauty, inspired and creative. Here are some ways to live a more creative life thanks to mindfulness:
Stop listening to your inner voice
Often what blocks our creativity is that inner dialogue that tells us that what we are doing is not beautiful or meaningful enough. We have to let go of these thoughts because each life story is unique and each experience has value and can bring inspiration.
Share your ideas with others
Share your ideas with the people you love without fear of being judged. Confronting others, listening to their stories and ideas in a mindful way can also lead to a renewed creative flow. You can also exercise empathy by getting used to listening to others without constantly thinking about what you can bring to the conversation.
Get into the habit of writing down your ideas
Not all the ideas you have will lead to the next masterpiece, but get used to noting them all in a small notebook that you always carry with you or in the notes app of your mobile phone. Although some ideas will be discarded, writing them gives you the opportunity to work on them instead of judging them immediately as bad ideas.
Overcome the fear of the blank page
To overcome the fear of the blank paget, reflect on what is really important for you of what you want to create. After that, simply start creating: write the first word or give the first brush stroke. Let go of your perfectionism and keep reminding you of your inner mission which is to create, not to be perfect.
Take a break
If you are stuck it can help to take ten minutes to meditate or take a walk in nature. Sport is also an activity that can make you forget your task for a moment, helping you start again with a new perspective.
