Vegan restaurant in Augsburg: Dreizehn

As you know, last year I decided to start a vegetarian diet. I’m not vegan yet, but I love trying vegan restaurants both in my city and when I travel. That’s because, I love to be able to choose from the entire menu and not have to limit myself to only two or three dishes, often not very original that are offered as the only vegetarian options. Often it’s difficult to find good restaurants suitable for vegetarians, for this reason I decided to resume an old feature of the blog that I had stopped publishing: the restaurants reviews. I hope you can find this section useful if you are vegetarian or vegan and looking for new restaurants or if you want to approach this cooking made with love and cruelty free.

We couldn’t start this section better because the restaurant I’m talking about today is one of the best of Augsburg. Often the cliché about vegan cooking is that tasteless, but this restaurant proves otherwise. It was my second time in this eating there and every time I had a great meal. Every dish is tasty and simply delicious.

As you know, I love interior design and I will tell you my opinion about it like I do in my hotels reviews. The Dreizehn restaurant has a really cozy but simple interior, I loved the detail of the origami cranes attached to the ceiling, they reminded me of my adolescence because in my room I had similar decorations made by me. I also love that it is full of plants. The exterior is also wonderful and in good weather I recommend you to book a table outside as we did and enjoy the atmosphere of the quiet square in which it is located.

Let’s talk about the dishes. I ordered a dish of the day, which therefore is not always present in the menu. They were vegan meatballs with baked eggplant, salad and mushrooms. Everything was really exquisite, I hope that from the photos you get the idea enough. The dish that has chosen Ste instead can always be found and it’s a pasta purchased locally at the city market topped with red pesto and vegan cheese, with an accompanying salad. Everything was so good that we decided to share the dishes to taste everything.

Although after the two main dishes I was really full, I decided to try one of the home made desserts and I opted for a banana and sesame cake. It was the first time I’d tried a vegan cake and I really loved it.

To conclude I definitely recommend the Dreizehn restaurant. It is located in Augsburg city center in a very nice area, the quality is excellent, the food as well as being vegan is organic and as much as possible local and, above all, the prices are not even high.   7. I started eating vegan dessert like walnut and fig muffin, black rice pudding and sago coconut pudding and they are actually yummy though I haven’t tried the main dishes yet. The food you had seems appetising, the eggplant and mushrooms look so good.

  31. Though I’m not vegan, I do stick to a plant based diet Mon-Fri and have been doing so for several years now. It has improved my health in so many ways. I love knowing that what I’m putting into my body is nourishing as well. I’m glad you were able to find a vegan restaurant with such delicious options, too!
