It’s almost Christmas already and this year I am super satisfied with the way I decorated my home. It’s pretty minimal but made up with objects that I have chosen with care and to which I am very fond. The only thing that is missing is a nativity scene but I’ll make it next year for sure. Every year I like to buy some new decorations to add or change some details but here is the list of things that absolutely can’t miss:
1. The Christmas tree
The Christmas tree is a must for me and even when I lived with my parents I forced everyone to do it. This year I bought a lot of new decorations and lights and now it look very different from last year, but I would like to add a few wreath and decoration.
2. LED stars and decorations.
I love the stars, especially if you can turn on them. Sooner or later it will buy one of those handmade stars that you can find in German Christmas markets, but for now I’ll settle for one of those bought at Ikea and one minimal in wood. My cinema light box with a Christmas quote can`t miss.
3. Adventskranz
Since this year I decided to embrace the German Christmas tradition of the Adventskranz. It is a composition of four candles and every Advent Sunday you have to lit one, until the last Advent Sunday when all the four candles al lit. It’s something that makes waiting for Christmas even more magical and I’m glad I started this tradition that I think I will continue to do.
4. DIY Advent Calendar
The advent calendar is a must for me and last year I was able to make one by myself and I love the result. I filled it with small gifts for my boyfriend, and it’s really fun to watch him open it every day.
