This year more than ever I needed to enjoy summer, to disconnect from the online world and live each second spent with my friends and my family to the fullest. For this reason during the holidays I “paused” the blog to dedicate totally to myself, but of course not without giving you some updates every now and then on Instagram. If you follow me there, (@olga_federico) you’ll know that my summer was spent between Greece and Italy, more precisely in Crete and Sicily, two wonderful islands of the Mediterranean. I visited Crete for the first time with my inseparable companion of adventures Cassandra for ten days of fun, On the other hand, Sicily is one of my places of the soul where I spent my holidays every year during childhood and the birthplace of my parents.
Crete photodiary
Today I show you the pictures posted on Instagram of my vacation in Crete and in the next post those of Sicily 🙂
One day before leaving for Crete, Cassandra reached me in Munich and we left together. The landing on the island was the most spectacular of my life, from the plane could be seen all the Greek islands and from the window you could see only water until suddenly, only a few seconds before landing, the ground appeared.
The whole holiday was an “on the road trip”. We hired a car and visited the most beautiful places on the island, but unfortunately ten days are few and were not able to visit it all. The first stop was Chania and the wonderful beaches of the west: Balos, Elafonissi and Falasarna
The second stop of the trip was the town of Agios Nikolaos, but not before making a stop to visit the Knossos Palace. During our stay we also saw the beach of Vai with its natural palm trees forest. Spianalonga island that was a former leper colony and Chrissi island that was a trulz paradise completely wild and uninhabited with the most crystal clear waters that I had seen in my life.
As you know every year my best friend Cassandra and I try to match our busy schedule to find a moment for us in some corner of the world. We are lucky to share the passion for travel and every moment spent with her is a precious gift. I’m curious to know what will be our next destination 🙂 I hope you liked the photos and stay tuned, in the next post, I will show you the pictures of my two weeks in Sicily!
